Just north of Boulder lies the small town of Berthoud, Colorado.  Despite its meager population of about 5,000, Berthoud is home to two breweries – City Star Brewing and Berthoud Brewing.

Berthoud Brewing is a new (open since 2014), unassuming spot just off the main artery.  Their beers are traditional offerings – stout, IPA, amber, etc, as with many newer breweries.

I grabbed two beers while I was there.

The first was Monk Punch, A light-bodied belgian dubbel with sugary sweetness.

Second was the Forged Stout, a rare entry that was not yet on untappd.  This was one was creamy, sweet, with roasted malt and chocolate.  Would drink again.
